MECACS Director Dr Fiona McCallum Guiney publishes article in Manara Magazine – ‘Understanding the Relationship Between Christian Communities and Authoritarian States in the Middle East’

MECACS Director Dr Fiona McCallum Guiney recently published a policy piece entitled ‘Understanding the Relationship Between Christian Communities and Authoritarian States in the Middle East’. Using the case studies of Egypt and Syria, she argues that government policies relating to autonomy and security of Christians is crucial in determining Christian responses to authoritarian states.

The article is part of a special issue on minorities in the Middle East ‘Suffering, Perseverance, and Hope: Minority Voices from the Middle East and North Africa’ published by Manara Magazine, the journal of the Cambridge Middle East and North Africa Forum.
