In an article published with The Foreign Policy Centre, MLitt student Ernest Zhanaev explains the situation in Kyrgyzstan, which has emerged surrounding human rights activity in recent years. His article describes how the Government has egregiously harassed and abused Kyrgyz activists from the most resilient through to the most vulnerable civil society leaders. This proves that those openly expressing dissent have paid a huge price for their activism. The article attempts to discuss the future of the civil sector and what it means for Kyrgyz society.
