MECACS Meets Ep7: Sarah Gharib Seif

Tuesday 8 June 2021

This week our interns had the pleasure of talking to PhD candidate Sarah Gharib Seif about her research on racialised and gendered constructions of women who joined the Islamic State. We discussed her work on media and government narratives, use of critical theory and understandings of citizenship in the US and UK. Our interns also gave an overview of recent events in Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Middle East. Previous episodes of MECACS Meets can be found on our blog.
