MECACS member Dr Nina Lutterjohann publishes article with ZOiS Spotlight – ‘Problems of International Peace Missions in Eurasia’

MECACS member Nina Lutterjohann has published a piece entitled ‘Problems of International Peace Missions in Eurasia’ in ZOiS Spotlight. Nina was until recently Visiting Scholar on a post-doctoral scholarship from the DAAD at the Harriman Institute at Columbia University in New York. She has researched the geopolitical and cultural implications, perceptions and discourses of protracted conflicts and de facto entities in the post-Soviet space. Her research interests also include conflict resolution, identity-building, migration, and radicalisation/extremism.

’The United Nations, the European Union, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe: international organisations are engaged in Eurasian crises in a variety of ways. Despite the longevity of the mandates, however, numerous conflicts have remained unresolved for years. What is missing from these missions?’
