MECACS teaching on Contemporary Issues in International Relations Summer School

MECACS is participating in the first IR Summer School on Contemporary Issues in International Relations. MECACS will start the three week course providing insight into how regions are affected by international affairs using examples from the Middle East, Central Asia and Caucasus. Topics include the relationship between state formation and Instability in the Middle East, the importance of Central Asia in world politics, security and politics of the Caucasus, and the political role of Christians in the Middle East. Dr Fiona McCallum Guiney, Dr Filippo Costa Buranelli and Prof Rick Fawn will lecture on the course. Our week will end with a roundtable on the Impact of the War in Ukraine for the MECAC regions. Students will then learn about international law and organisation as well as climate change and community rights with our colleagues from Centre for Global Law and Governance and the Third Generation Project.
