Dr Nasser Tolba (2023)

Dr Tolba is a lecturer at the Foundations of Education Department, Faculty of Education, Fayoum University, Egypt. He received a scholarship from the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education to pursue his doctoral studies in Germany and completed his doctoral degree at the Institute of Education and Culture, Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Germany Summa Cum laude in 2018. His PhD thesis is titled “University Student Culture in the Light of some Contemporary Societal Changes. A case study of Fayoum University”. Dr Tolba is currently working towards his habilitation at the University of Jena where he is focusing on religious education and politics using the case study of Copts in Egypt, Germany, and the UK. He conducts research in the areas of educational policy analysis, educational history, youth studies, political sociology of higher education, and international higher education. Dr Tolba is an Advisory Board Member of the Diaspora Studies Research Network based at the University of Jena.
